Delaying the Atlanta, just a little bit longer

Everything is always available immediately all of the time, but that doesn't mean we always have to gorge on it all. There are undoubted pleasures in holding off on the binge - and less chance of some kind of media indigestion.

I could've watched all of the last season of Atlanta in one go, even over a free afternoon, but was more than happy with the weekly dripfeed of an episode every Thursday. It's easily been one of the best pieces of television in the past decade, and I have known Atlanta was coming to an end for some time. And while it's all over for most, I'm still not quite there yet.

I get off on the anticipation. It like when someone says they are getting into something like Mad Men for the first time, and you end up envying them that joy of discovery, of all the twists and turns and feet getting run over by a lawnmower for the first time.

It's easy enough to keep away from spoilers if you're careful enough, and in these days that feel like everything is speeding up, it's so luxurious to have something stylish, thoughtful, intelligent and funny to  indulge in, and think about for a little longer. It's all over, but not yet. Not today.
