Death in Arkham

If there is one HR department in the entire multiverse that I feel the most sorry for, it's the poor bastards in charge of staffing at Arkham Asylum. Because the guards there must have genuine suicidal tendencies to work there, which makes them very unsuitable for the job of looking after people with severe mental issues.

The life span must be days for a new guard and the danger of being a guard at Arkham Asylum has been acknowledged plenty of time in the comics, with talk of some astronomical high pay rates to cover the danger, and overly generous life insurance

But it still must be so hard must it be to fill those roles, even with all the money in the world. It's just a massacre every other week in the place, and you could be wiped from existence just so the Joker can make some point about the futility of life, like he's done a million times before.

The poor fuckers. I always feel sorry for the hench, and that extends to the disposable masses that get mowed down in innumerable comics, movies and games. The Arkham graveyards are 80% nameless guard, what kind of person wants that fate?

You don't have to be crazy to work there, but you probably are.
