The first year of the Giffen/Bierbaum Legion of Super-Heroes was crippled by the ongoing continuity changes in the laughably linear DC Universe. An intriguing relaunch was hampered by the comic's own past and its connection to a reality that didn't exist anymore. For a couple of issues they even gave up on the whole thing and created an all new semi-medieval reality, before snapping back to normal with a few significant changes. But at least it gave us the sight of the mighty Mon-el facing possible oblivion and the destruction of all time and space, and deciding the only solution was to just punch the sprock out of it, and having everything fade to white.
